Chainsaw Carving HUGE 49 Great White Shark Carved Jaws Signed Original Wall Art
I carved this 49 long great white shark from kiln-dried lumber using a band saw, chainsaw, belt sander, die-grinder, and chisels. I carved the body, then added the fins before finishing it up. The teeth are carved from epoxy filler. It is approximately 49″ long, 19″ tall, and it’s pectoral fin sticks out 8 from the wall. It has many coats of spar varnish for an outdoor quality finish. Have you ever considered that Jesus would not be allowed to preach in most modern Churches? Look at His sermon on the mount (Matthew 5:3-7:27), He starts by establishing the criteria for gaining the kingdom. First of all, you must be poor in spirit, hungry, sick-to-death of your sin, not having an opinion of what you expect from God, but simply seeking Him. Next, you must understand what youre getting into. Now, only after making it crystal clear that you must consider yourself to be beneath whale excrement, and understanding that following Christ requires going wherever and doing whatever you are told and facing whatever consequences that may result, He begins to promote, and indeed expand the strictness of the moral law. He doesnt say you cant keep the law, on the contrary, He says you MUST keep it! Hes not suggesting in any way that we are saved by keeping it, only that we will be damned if we dont! This is clear and indisputable. He makes it abundantly clear that we are to make whatever personal sacrifices necessary to keep from sin, if we dont we will go to hell. How much plainer could He be? Immediately after covering the law he utters what has become the most bastardized scripture in the Bible, judge not that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again. I say it is bastardized because it is quoted out of context and said to mean the very opposite of what it means. The Greek word translated judge means just what it says, however, even in English this is not always the same thing. To judge can mean to condemn, condone, or simply decide either way. A judgment can be a decision made, or it can be a self-imposed rule, or an absolute law. Now looking at Matthew 7:1-2 in context, it is clear that He was forbidding us from picking and choosing what WE deem important and letting the rest go. He said, after preaching the necessity of righteousness according to the strictest adherence to the law, YOU judge not, or else you will be condemned. For by whatever rule you establish, you will be judged: and with what measure you use, it will be measured back to you. He removes any doubt as to the meaning of the first two verses by adding AND why do you notice the speck in your brothers eye and not the log in your own? Or how will you help your brother if you dont first purify yourself? First purify yourself and then help your brother become righteous too. But dont try to correct someone whos not even interested, it wont go well. If you arent sure what is the right way to deal with someone simply ask God. In a nutshell treat them as you would want to be treated if you were in the same situation. He sums up the sermon to this point by saying that there is a strict, narrow way that leads to life, and there is a broad easy way that leads to Hell. Finally he warns of false prophets who are greedy ravenous wolves that act like churches, but do not do what He commanded. The one who keeps His commandments will stand, the one who hears, but ignores His commandments will fall. Jesus would be excommunicated from the modern grace church if He preached the Sermon on the Mount today! For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers having itching ears. And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables. 2 Timothy 4:3-4.
