Charles Bibbs is an internationally acclaimed artist, entrepreneur and philanthropist, who is most recognized for his exquisite artistic renderings that convey deep senses of spirituality, majesty, dignity, strength and grace. Although self-taught, Bibbs attended Los Angeles Harbor College, Long Beach City College, Cal State Dominquez Hills, and California State University of Long Beach, where he studied in cross-disciplinary media and studio arts. Bibbs work displays a unique, strong and stylized quality done in a combination of abstract and realistic interpretations of contemporary subjects that are beautifully fused into multifaceted ethnicity, larger-than-life images. His technique can be distinguished from most artists. Bibb´s dedicates time to developing a cohesive, energized African American community as a community and economic development advocate, art educator and mentor for other artists and young people. Bibbs founded Art 2000, a non-profit visual art association that informs and inspires artists and art patrons alike. He love´d Jazz and founded the inland empire Music and Arts Foundation. This non profit organization brings an annual world class jazz and art festival to southern California. “My most important goal is to make profound aesthetic statements that are ethnically rooted, and at the same time, arouse spiritual emotions within us”.
