This medium sculpture stands over 12 and it is made of beautiful Colorado white marble with a light gray granite base that is hand chipped to leave a rough texture around the edge to contrast with the smooth polish of the sculpture. The design is an abstracted male torso given a geometric and linear abstraction. What I love about abstracting the figure is that everyone can see it a little differently. This is an original stone sculpture I created in 2018. Im Andrew Joseph Keith, an artist and sculptor at the beginning of my career. This sculpture was featured at the Loveland CO, Sculpture in the Park show. This is the largest outdoor juried sculpture show in the United States. Heres my artist statement from the show. Andrew Joseph Keith is a figurative artist who has always had passion for drawing and painting however, after his first sculpture class in college, he decided to make sculpture his focus. He is a husband and father from Logan, UT who studied at Utah State University under sculptors Rioichi Sazuki, Myles Howel, and Jason Millward. His artworks are inspired by the beauty and gesture of the human figure in dynamic poses that capture motion in a moment. As a young, new artist the value of my work is as low as it will ever be. As I build a name for myself in the art world the value of this and other sculptures will increase dramatically.
