Sioux Artist D. D. Ruleaux’s Two Print Set The White Buffalo/ponies Come Running
He earned a master’s degree in art education from Arizona State University during his 33 year K-12 teaching career. He also earned a prestigious yearlong fellowship to George Washington University in Washington, DC, which included access to the National Gallery. Known for his tremendous drawing skills he chose to paint Native American themed art in watercolor. The origina lwatercolor in Sioux pictograph style titled “THE WHITE BUFFALO” was obtained for One Nation Gallery in Taos, New Mexico in 1993. With the permission and participation of the artist a limited edition serigraph was made in Denver by Martin-John Graphics. Sized exactly the same as the original painting and using 13 colors the print looked just like the original. Overall it is 15″ high and 36″ wide. It was hand registered and hand pulled in the printing process on Rives BFK paper. 230 prints were finished with 200 being signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, 28 Artist Proofs and 2 Printer’s Proofs. In 1996 the serigraph “PONIES COME RUNNING” was made as a companion to “THE WHITE BUFFALO” again at Martin-John Graphics in Denver. It too is 15″ x 36″ with the same number of prints in each category. Includes Certificates of Authenticity and a short biography of the artist. Prints are not matted or framed. FOR A LIMITED TIME these two serigraphs are being offered together AT THIS SPECIAL PRICE.
