Charles White Drawing FRAMED African-American Artist
Here is a powerful portrait of a bearded man done in graphite/pencil. Gentleman has a stern look as White’s subjects always seemed to convey problems or people. Looks to have been drawing on a page from a book, sketch book. I carefully removed the drawing from the frame to take the photos. See angled photo to see sheen from the pencil. This is not a print, but an actual drawing. Frame in photo in included in sale. There are two small chips/missing pieces on the bottom corners. The edges of the paper have browned, and there is a nice overall yellowing of the paper. Signed on front under beard on left side. 8×11 inches, – paper; and 13 x16.5 inches the FRAME. Will make a great gift for the art lover, or art collector of this genre. It has been a passion of ours but now lack of space forces sales. Unfortunately (as we are finding out) many of these came with no history, or previous owner’s history which we now understand would add more value to the artwork. At the time we just acquired it for it’s appeal.
