Original symmetrical art – from the artist. The original images used for these artworks are photographs of light blurs, weathered paint, street lighting, industrial signs and equipment. They are everyday parts of the urban environment. When the symmetrical artwork is created by tiling the image, strange and beautiful compositions emerge from the textures and colours. The second series of artworks are created using a variety of paints, paper, and printing methods. The image is then manipulated digitally to produce the final symmetrical artwork. Much of my work is based around the themes of visual perfection or imperfection, explored through the use of symmetry or glitches / error. My work has been exhibited throughout the UK, Europe and the US. Exhibitions have included the TATE gallery, and also at Artbox in New York and Zurich.
