CHARLES WHITE Drawing on paper 1950 Framed
Beautiful portrait of a young woman drawn in pencil or graphite. Looks to be drawn on. A page from a sketch book. Texture of pencil/paper can be seen throughout. Charles White was a prominent artist/teacher and often depicted racial struggles and cultural life. Has signature on the front, bottom. In pencil with date of’50 (1950). Measures about 6×9 inches (image/paper). FRAME measures 10.75 x 14. FRAME IS INCLUDED IN THE SALE. Paper looks to have been torn from a sketch book as seen on the right side, small piece missing and there is a small hole just below it. Not seen once framed. Back has stain from age. PLEASE see all photographs for detail information and surface texture/color. This came from an estate sale out of Sausalito, CA many years ago. I have been collecting art for many, many years and have spent a small fortune doing so, I now have to part with most of my vast collection. Hoping it will also go to a collector or art enthusiast.
