IRON AND ALUM red white Yorkshire cliffs minimalist painting on canvas Tina-M
82cm x 61cm (32″x24″) deep canvas. Signed by artist on reverse of canvas. Professional grade materials on deep gallery-wrapped canvas, varnished, 4cm deep with white sides for a clean finish. Original acrylic painting on canvas inspired by the geology and sea stacks at Saltwick Bay near Whitby on the Yorkshire coast. Iron oxide bands give colour to the local cliffs, and the’pink’ of ancient alum burning tops the rock stacks in the low tide. The painting is finished with a matte varnish for protection. In her Scarborough studio, Tina captured the strong colours and simple forms of the dramatic Yorkshire coastline near Whitby in this minimalist abstract painting. “Iron and Alum” places you in a horizon of deep reds, shadows, gold, and soft pink white sky. Artist on the North Yorkshire coast. Comments from my collectors. ” “Lovely picture by talented artist! About the artist: My artwork is based on the sea, astronomy, and coastal geology. An American/British artist my works are influenced by both British and midwestern views of landscape. I’m a full-time professional artist working in Scarborough on the North Yorkshire coast.
