This one-hour nude is painted on a roughly underpainted wood panel. I use my worst brushes or gessoing my panels and like the rough look it gives. I was set up behind the model stand for this one, and I hope I was able to show this novel, splayed-leg position in a tasteful way. Our model, a modern dancer, always manages to come up with unusual positions to pose in. It’s refreshing and challenging for us artists and I love it! Her arm is resting on a bar that’s out of the frame on top. Using angled, flat and filbert brushes with linseed oil as a medium, I paint quickly, letting strokes show and mentally posterizing each part of the figure into light & dark shapes and colors. Flesh tones are mixed using every color on my palette, with warmer, brighter tones in the light; cooler tones in shadows. This item is in the category “Art\Paintings”.
