Very w ell drawn and highly detailed, original ink drawing by Yorkshire artist Tina Fettes Thornton (1946 – 2007), created in 1996. An illustration of two winged goddesses or angels one with a halo of stars, the other with stars in her hair, with a sword emitting starlight between them. As yet I have been unable to track down the mythology that this relates to. A very accomplished and highly detailed work, by an artist who sadly died young and would not sell any of her work during her lifetime. She painstakingly used pens with exceptionally small nibs and even pin points to create her illustrations. Signed and dated 1996 lower right – partly obscured by the frame slip. India ink, highlighted with China White on heavy wove paper. Ebony’ stained wood frame with silver corner details and gilt slip. Image size 35cm x 25cm; frame size 51.5cm x 41.5cm. Drawing in excellent original condition (see photos). Frame and slip in good clean condition, but with some slight nicks and scratches (see photos). Delivered ready to hang.
