The guitar was custom built for me last year by California Artist Guitars (You can find them on the web), it’s the second one I’ve owned. Unfortunately, a change of circumstances forces its sale. It’s loosely based on a 60s Telecaster but I’m sure the purists will see some subtle differences – all my choice – brass saddles, domed control knobs, 50s style string retainer etc. Body is ash, nicely figured but not outrageous – the whole guitar weighs circa 7lbs. Finish on both the body and the neck is nitro and the fingerboard is a nice dark rosewood. Pickups are hand wound by Joce Dominger of South Carolina (again, find them on the web). Just about everything on the guitar is aged but not distressed – so it just feels right! How does it sound – the way a good Tele should! You’re welcome to come and try. It comes in a pretty swish case too. I’ve had a few questions about the neck profile/frets etc – It’s a shallow C and the radius is 9.5.
