“White stag roaming” original oil painting on canvas by myself Sarah Haslam. I have been painting in oils since the age of 12 years. I have had no formal training – this is a gift I was born with. My first painting was of a cockerel which I painted on the kitchen table at home. I love to paint animals mainly. I have been drawing in pencil since I could hold one! Painted from a photo I took at Dunham Massey park in Cheshire. I finished this painting in July 2021. 10” x 8” around 3mm thick. The painting is with oils on canvas board and has been varnished and is ready to be framed. The board is around 3mm thick. The painting comes with a description by myself and a certificate of authenticity posted by courier in UK (only to addresses with a postcode) so it is tracked. I package the painting very well ensuring the corners don’t get damaged and it has plenty of cushioning to ensure safe transit. I always paint from a photograph but like to make the viewer feel like they were there and that there is emotion in the painting so it is different to a photograph. I use layers in my paintings to give a more realistic effect and always varnish them ready for you to frame. It takes a lot of time sometimes to finish a painting depending on the subject so a lot of emotion and attention to detail has gone into a painting unlike a photograph or poster. All my paintings are unique and signed on the front and back of the painting and I always say where I got the reference photo from. I love giving a history of the image, always sending you a Certificate of Authentication to be kept with the painting and sent with it if ever resold or gifted.
